Why we like it – Parking garages and airport lots can be absurdly expensive if you choose poorly. If you fail to find a reasonably priced one before you hit the road, BestParking will help. The app relies on GPS to serve up prices (including taxes) for nearby parking establishments in 18 of the nation’s biggest cities and 79 major airports, in a format that’s easy on the eye.
In an unfamiliar city, where you can’t make sense of the parking regulations, or you can’t find a free spot, BestParking is a life-saver. The app is well-suited for people who are stuck at a red light, weighing their next move; big, finger-friendly buttons quickly lead you through the process with minimal typing.
Improvements we’d like to see – BlackBerry users are left in the cold, although they can still access the BestParking mobile website. Offline access to the app’s information would also be a welcome option for those in areas of poor cell reception. And international coverage is not yet available.
