Find a last-minute deal on a room.

Why we like it -- If you're enjoying a day-trip to a city so much that you’d like to spend the night, this app can help you quickly find a room. Like all apps, the interface is optimized for smartphone users, and it uses GPS to narrow your list of city choices. In bigger cities, hotels are listed by neighborhood, and the property's star-rating and likely winning-bids are listed.

Improvements we'd like to see -- ITunes users have complained about the bidding system, phantom reservations and other elements that apply to Priceline.com as well. On the app, though, we’d like it to find rooms and rental cars at our bid -- not our bid plus $15 in taxes and fees. The app would also benefit from an airfare search feature, and a way to sort hotels by star-ratings or distance from the user.
