Get the inside scoop on travel-related services.

Why we like it -- A must-have for travelers, this app gets you quick, reliable information on accommodations, food and sights. (Use the “near me” feature to find the closest listings.) Reviews and photos come from other travelers, so you can generally expect no-nonsense remarks, even if the commentaries sometimes ramble.

You may also sign in and, if you’re a Facebook user, find reviews posted by friends or post your own photos or on-the-spot reviews. You can also use the app to find flights or contact hotels directly for fast booking.

Improvements we'd like to see -- Trip Advisor could benefit from some tweaks. It’s fine to read the most recent critiques, but why not let users sort the reviews as they see fit? After all, the most useful reviews are often the most critical, and Trip Advisor offers no easy way to find such comments.
