Haunted Destination: Old Slocum House
Vancouver, WA
Footsteps in the hallways and items spontaneously falling from shelves have caused many to believe that the house’s original owners still reside here. Custom-built in the 1870s by Charles and Laura Slocum, the house has several bedrooms to accommodate a large family, but the couple never had children. When the Slocum House was used as a community theater, Laura's ghost often appeared to watch children perform. Her husband Charles was much less welcoming -- he frequently annoyed and unnerved theater-goers in the building that was once his home.
