Editors' Picks: Our Bucket List
African Safari

African Safari

"Something definitely on my bucket list is to go on an African safari. If we're faced with the apocalypse, hey, I might as well stare down a rhinoceroses or a lion. If it's the last thing I'll ever see, I'd love to watch the sun set and the stars come out over the African hillside. But in all honesty, if my days were really numbered, I'd probably be sipping wine in a Parisian pied-à-terre even though it's a lot less wild." -- Sara, Producer

It's the end of days! The Mayan calendar predicts the world will come to a screeching halt Dec. 21. So we'd be remiss if we didn't provide a list of our dream vacations before we kick the bucket.
Blue Lagoon, Iceland

Blue Lagoon, Iceland

"After I saw Samantha Brown and Anthony Bourdain take a dip (separately, of course) in the otherworldly Blue Lagoon, Iceland quickly moved to the top of my bucket list. Seeing the steamy Blue Lagoon firsthand literally took my breath away. I ended up spending an entire day soaking in the geothermal seawater and emerged feeling like a new person -- and looking like a new one, too. The mineral-rich water is a natural fountain of youth." -- Kathleen, Producer

Inflatable Stand-Up Paddleboard

Inflatable Stand-Up Paddleboard

“I’m obsessed with SUP (stand-up paddleboarding); I even have even taken up SUP yoga. The only problem is there’s no easy way to carry those giant boards around. My problem is solved with this Tower inflatable stand-up paddleboard! Now I can easily carry my board when I travel, as it folds up, comes with its own carrying bag and even fits in the overhead compartment on a plane. Perfect for my next trip to Hawaii.” -- Kathleen, Interactive Producer

Editors' Picks: Hot Winter Vacations
Amalfi Coast, Italy

Amalfi Coast, Italy

Perched over the Tyrrhenian Sea, the Amalfi Coast is a great winter getaway. You may not be lounging poolside in your bikini in the dead of winter, but the temperature along this rocky green coastline rarely drops below 50 degrees. For a dose of history, visit nearby Pompeii, and take the hydrofoil to Capri to see the sunlight stream into the fabled Blue Grotto. Oh, and don’t leave without at least a few sips of limoncello!

Editors' Picks: Our Favorite Food Cities
gelato

gelato

No list of the world’s best foodie cities is complete without a shout-out to Italy, especially the fresh, rustic cuisine native to Florence. Grab a creamy scoop or two of gelato at Grom or Perche No! and sit on the steps of the Duomo as you devour it. And who said Italy was all about pasta and pizza? Even the most devout herbivores will be transformed when they carve into their first Bistecca alla Fiorentina.

Editors' Picks: Our Top College Towns
Charlottesville, VA

Charlottesville, VA

Charlottesville, home to the University of Virginia, was recently named one of National Geographic's 10 "World Wonders" thanks to Thomas Jefferson's design. Beyond the campus' Rotunda and nearby Monticello, the rolling hills and Blue Ridge mountains serve as a beautiful backdrop for the surrounding wineries and orchards. For its size, Charlottesville is incredibly well-read (it supports 2 weekly papers), has a plethora of art galleries, is overflowing with restaurants and attracts big-name talent to its open-air pavilion on the Downtown Mall.
