Komodo Dragons in Indonesia
They may not be as cute as koalas or lemurs, but Komodo dragons, which are found only on a few Indonesian islands, are just as fascinating. Females can lay as many as 30 eggs, and baby dragons hang out in trees until they are big enough to fend for themselves on the ground. Adults can weigh 300 pounds or more, and are the largest living lizards. Their size, combined with an acute sense of smell, powerful claws, serrated teeth and a venomous bite, makes them ferocious predators.
