Everything We Know About the Star Wars Land at Disney
The highly anticipated 'Star Wars' experience at Disneyland and Walt Disney World opens this summer and fall. Here are all the details we know so far about attractions, food, entertainment and more.
Disneyland
Star Wars fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for the new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge park expansion at both Disneyland and Walt Disney World. The land will open first at Disneyland this summer (late fall for Disney World) and feature incredibly immersive experiences that will make guests feel like they’re in a galaxy far, far away.
New World
The land is set on the planet Batuu at the Black Spire Outpost. According to the Disney Parks blog, this spaceport is “home to those who prefer to stay out of the mainstream, including smugglers, rogue traders and exotic creatures traveling between the frontier and uncharted space.”
Disneyland
The village will feature a marketplace that Disney Imagineers created based on the markets of Istanbul and Marrakech. And one stall will even be managed by Star Wars: The Phantom Menace character Toydarian.
New Rides
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will feature two brand-new rides. On Millennium Falcon, Smugglers Run, guests will pilot Han Solo’s iconic spacecraft and you’ll want to ride more than once as the attraction features three different roles and experiences onboard.
Disneyland
It wouldn’t be Star Wars without the war and on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, guests will face-off with the First Order including an encounter with Kylo Ren.
New Food and Beverage
One of the best things about Disney parks is the food and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will be no exception. The highly-anticipated cantina at Black Spire will feature Bantha milk as seen on the big screen in Star Wars IV: A New Hope. The neon blue drink is sure to be an Instagram must.
