A travel folder that fills itself.

Why we like it -- You can cut and paste all your travel information into a single document, or you can take all your confirmation emails and forward them to plans@tripit.com and let the site build a folder for you.

Your trip folder is nicely organized, with links for tracking your flight status, checking seating charts and an adequate map of the local area that you can view when you have no network connection. If you have Gmail, you can set your TripIt preferences to automatically grab travel-related emails.

A $49 annual fee gives you added features on the website and the app, like flight-delay alerts and alternative flight options.

Improvements we’d like to see -- IPhone users have complained loudly about recent updates to the app, which has prevented some users from logging in. I found no such issues – nor have Android or BlackBerry users -- but be warned. We would also like to edit itineraries from within the app, and see comments we’ve typed on our TripIt web pages, 2 features not available now on the app.
