Meet the panel of advisors behind Travel’s Best All-American Vacations 2014. Our advisors have traveled the nation looking for the best destinations to get a true taste of Americana and to marvel at the nation’s natural wonders and iconic landmarks.

From Travel Channel hosts Don Wildman and Kinga Philipps to Roadtrippers.com founder and CEO James Fisher, our experts have determined the best getaways that are distinctly All-American.
1. Kinga Philipps
Kinga Philipps is an experienced host, producer and journalist who lives in Malibu, CA. As an avid adventure traveler, Kinga goes the extra mile to explore National Parks through fun activities beyond a park’s carefully marked and manicured trails. Watch her go kite surfing, jet skiing and more while surrounded by the majestic, natural beauty of America’s great outdoors in the Travel Channel web series, The Wild Side with Kinga Philipps.

You may recognize Kinga -- she’s a guest commentator on Travel Channel’s Park Secrets and VH1’s 100 Greatest. Kinga is perhaps best known as the host of the hit series SyFy's Legend Quest and National Geographic's America's Lost Treasures.

Born in Warsaw, Poland, Kinga moved to Oklahoma with her family when she was 5 years old. Shortly after graduating from Oklahoma State University with a degree in broadcast journalism, she moved to LA where she appeared in dozens of television shows and movies. Some of her work included working as a journalist for Current TV, investigating police corruption, training with wrestlers in Mexico City and attending the first Mardi Gras after Hurricane Katrina.
2. Don Wildman
Don Wildman is fast becoming one the most recognizable faces in documentary television. Whether pulling back the curtain on a fascinating unseen view of America or bringing to light the puzzling and intriguing stories behind museum artifacts, Wildman takes viewers on an adventure with the mission to expose the real truth lying beneath the surface.

As host of Travel Channel’s Mysteries at the Museum, Wildman journeys across America, going deep into the vaults of the nation's most revered institutions and unearthing wondrous treasures from the past. Wildman also served as host of Travel Channel’s Off Limits, where he crisscrossed the United States, taking viewers behind locked doors to uncover the secrets of the country’s man-made world. In Wildman’s new original series on Travel Channel, Monumental Mysteries, he uncovers some of America’s most intriguing events, greatest triumphs, well-known disasters, and even some notorious crimes that are linked to many of the nation’s history-rich monuments. Whether traversing obscure or familiar turf, his journey is full of fun and surprises.
3. James Fisher
Born and raised partly in the English countryside and partly on African backroads expeditions with his wonderfully eccentric family, James Fisher has always been on a pathway to a lifetime of travel and adventure.

James has long been fascinated with America especially. From watching Hollywood movies in the ’80s to traveling to more than 60 countries, and experiencing American influence around the world close up, James came to the States on a journey to discover what really makes this country tick, beyond the stereotypes. This journey led him to travel the backroads in search of the places and small businesses that really define the local culture of towns and cities nationwide. What he found amazed and inspired him, and led him to create Roadtrippers, the first complete travel platform for road trips and independent travel. In doing so, James has realized his own American dream along the way.

Randy and Heidi Martin and their children, Kristi and Kyle, traveled 67,000 miles in 13 months on an RV trip to all 50 states.  OK, they flew to Hawaii and sailed to Alaska—but that’s still a lot of driving!

Their All-American trip of a lifetime has been featured in global media outlets including the Today show, Yahoo!, NBC News, WGN, Junior Scholastic, New York Daily News, Caters (UK), Daily Mail (UK) and now the Travel Channel.  The family is currently finishing a book, due out in 2015, to encourage others to explore the United States by road trip.  More information about the Martin family’s travels is available at thatTripUSA.com.
