About the Show
Experience a city like a local with the new original series 36 Hours, which premieres Monday, Aug. 17, at 8 p.m. ET. Inspired by the popular New York Times travel column, the show follows co-hosts Kristen Kish, an acclaimed chef, and Kyle Martino, a former professional US soccer player, as they arrive in a new city each week, where they’ll have a weekend to meet insiders who will point them to the best restaurants, hot spots and attractions.
"I've always wanted to travel so I could eat the food, meet the makers and allow myself to discover all the culinary brilliance a city has to offer. This is my inspiration, my living cookbook,” Kristen says.
“I chased a soccer ball around the globe for nearly 2 decades,” Kyle adds. “Now, I'm on the road once again, but this time eating, drinking and laughing my way through some of the world’s greatest cities with my good friend and Top Chef Kristen Kish.”
Cities featured in the series will be Barcelona; Berlin; Boston; Istanbul, Turkey; Nashville; and Portland, Ore. Kristen and Kyle’s excursions are informed by both Travel Channel and New York Times editors and contributors, who bring extensive research and expertise about each locale.
