Here’s What Chuck Zukowski from 'Alien Highway' Thinks About Storming Area 51

If anyone has an opinion on the viral Facebook event, it's Alien Highway's Chuck Zukowski. Spoiler alert: he doesn't think it's a good idea!

It’s been almost a week since the Facebook event to storm Area 51 went viral, and as of today there are 1.5 million people attending. Another 1.2 million are interested, because naturally, everyone wants to see them aliens.

Travel Channel has done its fair share of investigations on Area 51 and the conspiracy theories surrounding the Air Force base. Just a few weeks ago, Alien Highway explored the possibility of an alleged alien still on the loose after escaping from Area 51. Chuck Zukowski, host and lead investigator on Alien Highway has been investigating UFO-related incidents for 30 years. So we thought if anyone has an opinion on the plans to raid Area 51, it’s Chuck.

We reached out to Chuck via email to get his thoughts and to put it plain and simple, he thinks storming Area 51 is “not a good idea!” Chuck himself has seen what their security looks like and even though the Facebook event title says, “they can’t stop all of us,” Chuck has reason to believe they absolutely could. He told Travel Channel, “Back in the mid ‘90s, I hired a guide who led me up Tikaboo Peak in Nevada so I could see Area 51 off in the distance. While observing from the Peak, which is on public land, I witnessed their Blackwater-type private security services change personnel shift. Vehicles were literally popping up out of nowhere for the shift change.” He also pointed out that trespassing on a military base is illegal.

Of course, the Facebook event probably began as a joke. But just in case anyone’s seriously considering showing up to see them aliens, we’ll leave you with one last thought from Chuck: “Raiding Area 51 in a nut shell? Trust me, I've seen their security, had contact with them, and know they are very capable of handling any situation. Besides, now they know you're coming.”

That being said, if you’d prefer to raid Area 51 from your couch, you can tune in Wednesday nights to Travel Channel when Alien Highway is all-new at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
