Horror at Joe Exotic's Zoo
Ghost Adventures fans, it’s time for this year’s epic two-hour Halloween special, Ghost Adventures: Horror at Joe Exotic Zoo. (Yup, that zoo.) We’re adding another chapter to this incredible saga, a chapter that will no doubt be memorable — and terrifying.
Strange Experiences
According to employees, stories have circulated for years of the strange happenings throughout the park: mysterious noises, balls of lights, even a bizarre mist — to name a few. Is there something dark plaguing the property? "This is why we can’t wait to get out of here because this is — it’s a black cloud. It just lingers over here," says Lauren Lowe during her interview with Zak.
Meet the Owners
Lauren and her husband, Jeff, are the current owners of the Greater Wynnewood Animal Park. During their initial interview, Zak is interrupted by a tiger growling and urinating through the fence behind him. What a way to start an investigation, right?
Travis Maldonado
Joe Exotic’s husband, Travis Maldonado, died by suicide on the property back in 2017, and several employees, including his friend Erik Cowie, say his spirit remains.
Seeing Spirits
Erik, pictured here, says he once saw the spirit of Travis in his trailer on the property, an experience that lasted several minutes.
The Tigers
Another look at the tigers that call the Greater Wynnewood Animal Park home.
Mysterious Knocking
Jeff says he’s heard knocking on windows and loud jumping on his porch, which he believes to be Travis. "Motion lights would come on and there’d be nobody here."
Joe Exotic's House
The entrance to the infamous Joe Exotic's home, which sits at the back of the zoo.
Evil Presence
The house stands in complete disarray, with clothes, prescription bottles and even feces covering the floor. It’s said Joe’s house contains an "evil presence." This location will be the focus of the crew’s lockdown.
Major Experiments
Bill Chappell is on hand to execute one of the “biggest audio experiences he’s ever attempted.”
The Back 40
Countless animal remains have been dumped in an area of the park known as "The Back 40." This seems to be a particularly chilling part of the park.
Calling in Forensics
Rumors of human remains on the property also exist here — though these allegations are unproven. Zak calls in a forensic team to further investigate the grounds.
Sniffing Out the Swamp
Cadaver dogs search the grounds for human remains, which could take the Ghost Adventures investigation in a completely different direction.
Potential Crime Scene
Sheriffs are called to the park, and it’s officially turned into a potential crime scene.
Welcome to the Park
