We all know Dracula from dozens of Hollywood movies, but the man behind the character is more frightening than anything Bram Stoker could ever dream up. The GAC are on a mission to find Vlad Tepes, also known as Vlad the Impaler.

Targoviste Castle in Wallachia, Romania, is where Vlad the Impaler ruled with an iron fist, gaining a notoriously violent reputation.

Zak sets up the camera to get a shot outside the birthplace of Vlad Tepes, also known as Vlad the Impaler or Dracula.

The guys explore Transylvania and learn that Romanians are a superstitious people. In fact, some people are afraid to talk about the ghosts who still lurk in the castles where Vlad Dracula left his mark.

In the tunnels beneath Hunedoara Castle, an ancient hallway is filled with headstones.

Nick explores one of the many Transylvania castles that the guys investigate during their trip to Romania.

Comana monastery, founded by Vlad Tepes, is very beautiful ... and sometimes, very creepy.

Nick films Zak as he discusses the history of Vlad the Impaler at the notorious ruler’s birthplace in Sighisoara.

The ancient Castle of Targoviste is where Vlad practiced his brand of swift and brutal justice, leaving behind a bloody history of revenge.

This investigation takes the guys through hundreds of miles of Romania, and is the biggest investigation the GAC has ever attempted.

Aaron takes in the sights and sounds of Transylvania.

The buildings surrounding Corvin Castle in Hunedoara are deteriorating.

Corvin Castle is where Vlad Dracula was imprisoned after his capture. Corvin Castle had a reputation as a place prisoners wanted to avoid at all costs because being prisoner here usually meant death.

This well at Corvin Castle was built by Turkish soldiers who were decapitated after their work was finished.

Romania is a country full of superstitions and legends. It’s believed that Vlad Dracula’s tomb is located here, beneath Comana monastery.

Zak, Aaron and Nick conduct an interview inside Comana monastery.
