The Indian Army Discovered Yeti-Like Footprints And We Are So Here For It

The Indian Army recently tweeted that they discovered very mysterious footprints in the Himalayas— and they've got the pictures to prove it. Unsure about what to believe? Tune in to the Yeti-themed episode of In Search of Monsters on Wednesday, May 15 at 9|8c.

In case you missed it: there’s been a big development in the case for whether or not Yetis exist. Last week, the official Twitter account of the Indian Army tweeted that a Mountaineering Expedition Team discovered suspicious, Yeti-like footprints.

The footprints were spotted near the Makalu Base Camp which is located in the Himalayas of Nepal — aka, where legend claims the Yeti calls home. Coincidence? Maybe!

30K likes and 13K retweets later, it’s safe to say that the Indian Army has attracted some attention with their recent discovery. From Yeti skeptics to almost every major news outlet, just about everyone was chiming in on the findings.

Despite the many non-believers, the Indian Army is standing by their announcement. They told the Times of India that they plan to hand over all photographic evidence of the Yeti footprints to subject-matter experts for further evaluation.

While we wait for more answers on the Indian Army’s discovery, we over here at Travel Channel are happy to share that we have some fresh Yeti content of our own coming your way. On Wednesday, May 15, an all-new episode of In Search of Monsters is dedicated to the elusive creature. Turns out, that “shocking new DNA evidence may suggest that the Yeti may not only come from an otherworldly source but also reside right here in America.”

You can catch the Yeti-themed episode of In Search of Monsters on Wednesday, May 15 at 9|8c.
