Season 1, Episode 8
Death by Anaconda
Spurred by reports of a massive snake attacking people in Colombia's Amazon Basin region, wildlife expert Casey Anderson travels to Bogota to begin his investigation. Since the decline of the country's violent drug cartels, scientists have been venturing into once-prohibited areas of the Amazon jungle and identifying new animal species, both alive and extinct. Casey meets a paleontologist from the team that discovered fossils of the Titanoboa, a 50-foot, 2,500-pound mega-snake that shares characteristics with today's anaconda. Scientists believe that somewhere in the Amazon could be the link between them -- a giant and aggressive snake the locals call Yacumama.
