Discovery's New Streaming Service, discovery+, Launches January 4, 2021
For the first time, Discovery’s iconic brands, including HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel and more will be available to stream all in one place
Discovery’s new streaming service, discovery+, will start on January 4, 2021 and will feature the largest-ever content offering for any streaming platform at launch, including several hundred hours of original and exclusive series in the first year.
In addition to the full slate of new and original content, discovery+ will offer more than 55,000 episodes, with over 2,500 current and classic shows from Discovery’s iconic portfolio of networks, including HGTV, Food Network, TLC, ID, OWN, Travel Channel, Discovery and Animal Planet. It will also host the biggest library of true crime content on any streaming service in the world.
Fans can expect new content from iconic personalities and franchises such as, the legendary horror director, has also signed a multi-series deal to create exclusive for discovery+.
discovery+ will be fully distributed across major platforms, including connected TVs, web, mobile, tablets and game consoles. For direct purchase, discovery+ will be available in the U.S. starting at $4.99 per month, with an ad-free version available for $6.99 per month. Each account will include up to five user profiles and four concurrent streams, among the most offered in the streaming video category.
