The World’s Most Haunted School

An Irish school built on top of an old gallows site is occupied by a poltergeist who regularly moves furniture, empties lockers, and rips posters from the wall. Security camera footage caught a bank of lockers rocking back and forth before another locker door flew open, papers were emptied from it, and a wet-floor sign fell and slid across the floor.

The Montauk Monster

In 2008, the corpse of a mysterious creature washed up on the beach in Montauk, New York, and fueled speculation in the paranormal community that the body was that of a previously unknown cryptid. The animal, which had webbed feet, coarse hair like a raccoon, and canine-like teeth, disappeared before scientists could examine the so-called “Montauk monster.” In 2016, a couple walking along the beach photographed another one of the unsettling creatures.

Gettysburg Ghosts

The 6,000-acre Gettysburg National Military Park, the site of the bloodiest three days of the U.S. Civil War, is said to be haunted by the ghosts of both Union and Confederate soldiers. Visitors to the park often report seeing the spirits of men who died there during the July 1863 battle. A pair of amateur ghost hunters went to the battlefield late one night and recorded the specter of a soldier walking between two cannons in an area called Pickett’s Charge.

Modern-Day Cyclops

The idea of Cyclops—a one-eyed monster—has existed since the days of the ancient Greeks. Many cultures around the world have a version of Cyclops in their local lore and storytelling traditions, but in 2017, a live Cyclops was born in the form of a baby goat in India. Perhaps the Cyclops isn’t just a legend.

Stalked by Bigfoot

Stories about Bigfoot and other giant forest-dwelling monsters have been circulating the world for decades. Sometimes, the monster is called Sasquatch, other times, the Abominable Snowman. In 2014, a man and his son on a hike in the Ouachita National Forest near Hot Springs, Arkansas stumbled across a tall, black hairy creature that growled as it walked through the trees—and then it began to chase them.

A Baby Attracts a Powerful Entity

The infant son of a military veteran draws a spirit into the family home, but the child’s mother believes it’s just her grandfather coming by to visit. As the boy’s father filmed him banging on pots and pans one evening, a closet door across the room swings open, the child turns to look, and a large toy flips over without being touched.

A Demon in the Dispatch Center

A 911 dispatcher began filming strange phenomena around the dispatch center in Cobbtown, Georgia, when she noticed office lights flickering, the sound of knocking, and objects moving on their own. One night, as she panned her camera towards the break room, a dark shadow figure looked back at her from a doorway before disappearing.

The Playground Poltergeist

A dad in Conimicut Point, Rhode Island, had planned a park day for his small children, but when they arrived, they noticed a single swing swaying wildly in the empty park. The wind wasn’t blowing, and none of the other playground fixtures were affected. Perhaps a child’s ghost had stopped to play.

A Strolling Specter

Home security camera footage in Henderson County, Kentucky, shows a translucent figure walking down the street before it disappears into thin air. Thinking it was just a camera trick, the homeowners immediately stepped outside to see who was there, but the street was completely empty.

The Ghostly Athlete

A mom recording her daughter’s cheerleading squad at a Friday night high school football game didn’t notice the spirit she captured racing through the scene. A translucent figure appears from the right side of the screen sprinting past players, security guards, and onto the football field and nobody could see it.

It Was in the House with Him

A man in Oxford, North Carolina was looking forward to a day off work when his smoke detectors began beeping and he noticed the lights in his home had dimmed. The lights in the fridge and bathroom were flickering. The water had turned on by itself. The homeowner had videoed the strange occurrences before fleeing the house, and when he reviewed the footage later, he was astounded at what was peering out of his daughter’s bedroom.
